Weekend Review 20th/21st September

By Robert Neale

Some you win,some you lose.

U8s Tigers lead the way with a 2-0 victory over Wingerworth Wolves, thanks to two goals from the deadly Ciaran (six goals in two matches). A clean sheet was a bonus, and defensive rock Josh was therefore Man of the Match. Tigers are unbeaten for the season, two games two wins.

No such luck for the U8s Terriers who suffered a heavy defeat against Darley Dale. Their highlight was Simon's goal (and subsequent celebration) which got the loudest cheer of the morning. Henry was Man of the Match.

Saturday sees the U8s go head to head!

U10s Tornadoes had a resounding 6-1 win against Tibshelf, Jay and Matty with two each, and Elisha with one goal. Man of the match was Matty, in a team performance that got compliments from managers, spectators and even the referee! Tornadoes are also unbeaten so far this season. On Saturday they face Darley Dale Tornadoes.

U11s had a week off but on Saturday will entertain Eckington Boys on the Fete Field.

U13s Dragons travelled to Hasland on Sunday and were defeated 6-4. Two goals each from Logan (pic shows equaliser at 4-4) and Kian had Tansley level with their hosts midway through the second half but Hasland's superior finishing saw them grab two further goals to put the game out of Tansley's reach. No game on Sunday for Dragons.

U16s came away from Kirkby with a 4-3 win and all three points. Next up are Darley Dale, 2nd in the league, on the Fete Field.

Performance of the week, and website colurs, goes to U10s Tornadoes, plaudits all round for this team who are starting to show what they are capable of.

Where next?

Weekend Review 13/14 September Solid start to the season for Tansley's teams.
